Laish Detwiler of Goshen was presented with the Rollie Hoover Memorial Wrestling Scholarship award this morning. This award is presented to one outstanding wrestler in Elkhart County.
The 7th grade Goshen Boys track team lost to Schmucker 20-80. Standout athletes were Jacob Griffith (1st place in 800m and 1600m), Carson Kinsey (2nd in 200m and 3rd in 100m), and Jasper Snider (3rd in high jump and 400m).The 8th grade Goshen Boys track team beat Schmucker 64-36. 1st place finishers for Goshen were Xy’Mire Barnes-Bridges(100m), Alex Ortiz(400m), Jesse Sawatzky(1600m), Mario Fernandez (800m), Michael Aimone(110m Hurdles), Elijah Voth(High Jump), Eleazar Anglemyer(Shot Put), Aidric Diaz De Leon(Long Jump), and the 4x400m team of Xy’Mire Barnes-Bridges, Michael Aimone, Andrue Sherrill, and Jesse Sawatzky.
Goshen lost to Northridge-1-4 on Tuesday April 16. Landry Schrock won her match against Saige Wheatley, 6-3, 6-3. Goshen is 4-2 and 1-1 in the NLC.
